What is ADSL?
ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line or DSL for short) is a high-speed Internet access service that utilizes existing copper telephones lines to send and receive data at speeds that far exceed conventional dial-up modems. It permits ordinary voice telephone conversations to be transmitted at the same time as Internet data on a single telephone line.

The most significant advantage is the fact that DSL is more cost-effective because it eliminates the need for extensive and expensive infrastructure upgrades. DSL service requires no new phone lines and minimal new equipment. Additionally, DSL offers a dedicated home connection as opposed to a shared connection utilized by cable modem and wireless technologies - for this reason, it is more secure and reliable than these competing technologies. With its blazing speeds, DSL transforms APUA’s network of telephone lines into multi-megabyte data pipes capable of speeding digital video and data into homes and businesses. Also unlike some of the other service providers, INET is not affected by adverse weather conditionsce telephone conversations to be transmitted at the same time as Internet data on a single telephone line.
Is INET a residential or commercial service?
INET is well suited for both residential and commercial users. Residential users who have high usage patterns and frequently visit multi-media web sites can find value in such a service. Additionally, the owners of small and medium sized businesses are also ideal candidates for this service.
Is INET available on any telephone line?
APUA’s INET will work on analog phone lines like most residential phone lines. Although not impossible, INET will not be setup to work on Centrex or any other digital type phone system.
How do I get connected with INET?
To get connected, customers can visit the INET Office at the APUA headquarters Cassada Gardens. An application form will be filled out and a credit check will be conducted. Upon approval, the customer will be able to purchase a modem and receive a customer kit, with detailed instructions on how to set up their own service.
What are the system requirements?
The requirements for the service are: • Working PC or MAC equipped with an Ethernet Network Card or USB Port • Working Telephone Line to which the DSL modem will be connected • ADSL Modem – Available at the INET Office • Micro Filter/Splitter to separate voice and data traffic
How long does it take to get connected?
A maximum time of 48 hrs will be required to get connected. However, depending on the number of applications being processed simultaneously, service may be provided the same day that the application is received and approved.
What support can I get for trouble shooting?
INET aims to provide customer support for service malfunctions 7 days a week from 8:00am to 10:00pm. To contact customer support call (268) 480-7DSL.
What are the business hours of operation?
Business hours of operation to apply for service will be Mon – Thu 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and Fri 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. Bill payments can be made thru 6:00pm Mon – Thu and 4:00pm on Fri.
